Application

KGEV, KGEV-HL (B, B-) 6 kV

Cables are designated to connect excavators and movable devices or electric equipment to power systems with an insulated neutral at AC rated voltage of rated frequency 50 Hz for main conductors – 6 kV, auxiliary conductors – 380 V in systems equipped with automatic power shutdown in case of a single-phase short-circuit at 98% relative air humidity at (35±2)C and at ambient temperature from -40 C to +50 C (KGEV); and at ambient temperature from -50 C to +50 C (KGEV-HL).

 

Construction

Conductors
Multicore copper round stranded conductors (equal to or more than class 5 in accordance with GOST 22483-77).

Screen over main conductor
Semiconducting screen from electroconductive PVC compound.

Insulation of main and auxiliary conductors
Thermoplastic compound from polyvinylchloride resin.

Screen over insulation of main conductors
Semiconducting screen from electroconductive PVC compound.

Earth conductor
Earth conductor is uninsulated or expansible electroconductive PVC compound screen is laying-on over earth conductor.

Oversheath
Polyvinylchloride (PVC) compound.

Technical characteristics

At customer request is allowed manufacture of cables with another number of main conductors and another cross-section of auxiliary conductors and earth conductor.

Conductors resistance of main and auxiliary conductors calculated for 1 km at 20 C complies with GOST 22483-77.

Insulation resistance calculated for 1 km at 20 C is at least:

  • for main conductors:
    • at acceptance and delivery – 50 MOhm;
    • for operational and storage period – 0.5 MOhm;
  • for auxiliary conductors:
    • at acceptance and delivery – min. 10 MOhm;
    • for operational and storage period – 0.05 MOhm.

Main conductors endure test rated voltage of 15 kV AC, 50 Hz rated frequency for 5 min.

Auxiliary conductors endure test rated voltage of 2 kV AC, 50 Hz rated frequency for 5 min.

Electric potential at emerging of partial discharge of main screened conductors not less 9 kV, electric potential at cut off of partial discharge – not less 6 kV.

Cables resist alternation bending around rollers to the angle of π radian with stretching of 196 H.

Allowed deviation of roller diameter ±10%.

Cables are resistant to influence of ambient mechanical factors according to group of exploitation conditions of M4 in accordance with GOST 17516.1.

Coefficient of reduction flexibility of cable at changing temperature from –50 C up to +25 C should be no more than 10.

Cables are resistant to sun radiation.

Cables are flame retardant with a single laying.

Manufactured cable length: min. 200 m.

Durable permissible operating temperature for conductors of KGEV, KGEV-HL cables – max. 75 C.

Minimum permissible bending radius of the cable at installation and routing must equal to min. 6 outer diameters of the cable, at wire rolling and winding - min. 10 outer diameters of the cable.

Maximum stretching of the cable must not exceed 24.5 H , cable stress at wire rolling and winding – max. 10 H per mm of compound cross-section area of conductors.

Cable must not be exposed to crushing load and impact load.

Cable ends must be sealed off.

Cable must not be used in case its oversheath is damaged.

Earth conductor must be connected to earth lead whenever cable is in operation.

Auxiliary conductor must be connected to monitoring equipment of earth conductor integrity providing for signalization and automatic shutdown of the cable line.

Excavator feeder at substations and terminals must be connected to the equipment that provides automatic shutdown of the cable line in case of a single-phase short-circuit. Shutdown time must not exceed 0.2 sec., and max. 0.5 sec. - with backup protection.

Cable without an auxiliary conductor must be checked for integrity of earth conductor.

Cable must not be used in case its earth or auxiliary conductors are damaged.

Guarantee period: 1 year from the commissioning date.

The manufacturer can ensure compliance of cable quality with requirements of current technical specification, provided all terms of transportation, storage, installation and use have been observed.

Service life: min. 3 years, if operating on mechanisms equipped with swinging paying out drums – min. 5 years, provided operation directions have been observed.

All products are certified.
